A word from the Vine Trust...
Rahul is fundraising in aid of their Vine Trust School Expedition to Tanzania. Vine Trust School Expeditions are an opportunity for students to make a real and lasting difference to Tanzanian communities living in poverty. Working closely with our in-country partners, volunteers construct individual family homes for some of the world's most vulnerable people - providing shelter, security and hope, and empowering communities to achieve a brighter future.
Donations made through this page will contribute towards the cost of Rahul's expedition, including international flights, accommodation, food, in-country transport, and the purchase of construction materials and resources. Any additional funds raised will go towards future Vine Trust construction projects and the development of Vine Trust's programmes.
Many thanks for supporting Vine Trust – together we are helping to support vulnerable communities through effective and sustainable development.
Please note: Vine Trust does not accept responsibility for the fundraising activities of persons fundraising in aid of their expedition or the Trust. Any views expressed on this page are solely those of the named fundraiser and/or their donors, not Vine Trust.
Fundraising Activity
The reason I shall be raising money is in order for myself and other young volunteers from my school to journey to Tanzania, in order to build a house for an underprivileged family. The line set for classifying poverty today, is living under $1.90 per day. This equates to under $700 a year. Approximately 34% of Tanzanians today live under the World Bank Poverty Line, and providing even a single family with a home could have a tremendous effect on their living conditions.
How I'm raising money
Throughout the course of my fundraising efforts, I shall be pushing my body to its very limits. After years of performing cardiovascular exercise 2-3 times a year, I will be stepping up my intensity of training in order to complete a 10k run. In addition to this, I will be performing a series of gym-based challenges, requiring me to perform 1000 repetitions per bodypart- for my arms, chest, back, legs and core. This will be gruelling.
