A word from the Vine Trust...
Isobella is fundraising in aid of their Vine Trust Medical Expedition to Lake Victoria, Tanzania. Jubilee Hope Medical Expeditions are an opportunity for volunteers to make a real and lasting difference to communities living on the islands and shore of Lake Victoria. Working in partnership with our in-country clinical team, volunteers provide primary healthcare services to communities living in severe poverty, aboard our fully-equipped medical vessel, Jubilee Hope. Vine Trust Medical Expeditions provide free, life-changing clinical testing, treatment and education to communities who would otherwise have little or no access to basic healthcare.
Donations made through this page will contribute towards the cost of Isobella's expedition, including international flights, accommodation, food, in-country transport, and a donation towards the medical programme. Any additional funds raised will go towards the maintenance and development of the Jubilee Hope Medical Programme.
Many thanks for supporting Vine Trust – together we are helping to support vulnerable communities through effective and sustainable development.

Fundraising Activity
I'm excited to have been accepted on an expedition with the Vine Trust, a charity which works with long-term Peruvian and Tanzanian partners as they strengthen health systems and implement construction projects in isolated and vulnerable communities in the Amazon and on Lake Victoria. For 2 weeks I will be travelling on board the Jubilee Hope, working in my capacity as a doctor to provide basic healthcare and health education for remote communities on Lake Victoria in Tanzania. According to UN data, 44.9% of the population of Tanzania live below the income poverty line, and on the islands around the shores of Lake Victoria are many small fishing communities with little access to healthcare. The Jubilee Hope medical ship provides itinerant primary healthcare, as well as health promotion and education to these communities. This is such an exciting opportunity for me to see the work of the Vine Trust, broaden my experience, learn from the skilled Tanzanian doctors on board, and help people who really need it. I have wanted to take part in this type of work for many years, and had organised my medical school elective placement in Uganda, which unfortunately could not go ahead due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore I am thrilled to be having this opportunity now. However this type of trip is not cheap, and I am taking part as a volunteer in my own time off work. The cost of the trip contributes towards the running of the ship and the medical programme, allowing this vital work to take place. Therefore, if you would be able to donate any amount to help me on this expedition, I would be extremely grateful. How I'm raising money
