Euan’s Tanzania 2027 fundraising page

A word from the Vine Trust...

Euan is fundraising in aid of their Vine Trust School Expedition to Tanzania. Vine Trust School Expeditions are an opportunity for students to make a real and lasting difference to Tanzanian communities living in poverty. Working closely with our in-country partners, volunteers construct individual family homes for some of the world's most vulnerable people - providing shelter, security and hope, and empowering communities to achieve a brighter future.

Donations made through this page will contribute towards the cost of Euan 's expedition, including international flights, accommodation, food, in-country transport, and the purchase of construction materials and resources. Any additional funds raised will go towards future Vine Trust construction projects and the development of Vine Trust's programmes.

Many thanks for supporting Vine Trust – together we are helping to support vulnerable communities through effective and sustainable development.

Please note: Vine Trust does not accept responsibility for the fundraising activities of persons fundraising in aid of their expedition or the Trust. Any views expressed on this page are solely those of the named fundraiser and/or their donors, not Vine Trust.

Fundraising Activity

I have been extremely lucky to be selected by Earlston High School as one of a group of people to be given the amazing opportunity of doing voluntary community work based in the town of Moshi,Tanzania in June 2027. During our time there we will be supporting and working alongside local communities by carrying out various activities, including building houses which gives vulnerable families much needed security and shelter. By taking an interactive role and speaking with local people, I will see first hand the impact that poverty has in third world countries and how projects such as the Vine Trust are supporting and enabling local communities to benefit from projects such as this. We will be learning about the Tanzania Women's Research Foundation (TAWREF) and the work they do to help identify specific needs of the local community and how best to meet these needs whilst giving autonomy to local community members. For me personally this a fantastic opportunity to gain an insight into the cultural aspects and beliefs of a different country and how this differs to our country. I also believe that this opportunity will help me grow as an individual by consolidating aspects such as teamwork and communication skills. To take part in this experience I am responsible for fundraising, funds raised will go towards the cost of travel, accommodation etc. Your help and support will be gratefully accepted and any contribution big or small will take me one step nearer to fulfilling this amazing opportunity and make a difference to those less fortunate. To develop my leadership skills and the opportunity to test my abilities in taking responsibility for tasks. Also to further my team-working skills in a new and challenging setting. To gain an insight into the cultural aspects and beliefs of a different country and how this differs to our country. To learn about the history of the area.

How I'm raising money

I will be doing various fundraising activities including sponsored events and activities such as sales (car boot/ home baking) and community services ie gardening, car washing.
