Cycling the John Muir Way for the Vine Trust

A word from the Vine Trust...

Alexander is fundraising in aid of their Vine Trust School Expedition to Tanzania. Vine Trust School Expeditions are an opportunity for students to make a real and lasting difference to Tanzanian communities living in poverty. Working closely with our in-country partners, volunteers construct individual family homes for some of the world's most vulnerable people - providing shelter, security and hope, and empowering communities to achieve a brighter future.

Donations made through this page will contribute towards the cost of Alexander's expedition, including international flights, accommodation, food, in-country transport, and the purchase of construction materials and resources. Any additional funds raised will go towards future Vine Trust construction projects and the development of Vine Trust's programmes.

Many thanks for supporting Vine Trust – together we are helping to support vulnerable communities through effective and sustainable development.

Please note: Vine Trust does not accept responsibility for the fundraising activities of persons fundraising in aid of their expedition or the Trust. Any views expressed on this page are solely those of the named fundraiser and/or their donors, not Vine Trust.

Fundraising Activity

I am raising money to travel to Tanzania and support the Vine Trust, an international development charity that works in Tanzanian to implement construction projects in isolated and vulnerable communities on Lake Victoria. The Vine Trust coordinates building expeditions, allowing volunteers to actively participate in construction activities under the mentorship of local builders

How I'm raising money

In Easter 2026, I will be cycling the John Muir way. Over 3 days I will be traversing central Scotland coast to coast, off road, in 134 miles. The route links Helensburgh in the west with Dunbar in the east (birthplace of America's 'father of national parks' John Muir).
