Fundraising Activity

Hi everyone! I’m fundraising for an incredible opportunity I’ve been given—to take part in a two-week building expedition in Tanzania with the Vine Trust. In partnership with the Tanzania Women’s Research Foundation (TAWREF), we’ll be working to improve the lives of vulnerable children, young people, and women in the Moshi region. TAWREF is a nationally recognised organisation that designs and delivers community-based interventions grounded in extensive research. Together with the Vine Trust, they identify families in need and build safe, secure homes that offer hope and stability. During the expedition, I’ll be: Meeting families supported by TAWREF and learning about the impact of their life-changing work. Rolling up my sleeves to help build homes—digging foundations, mixing cement, and laying bricks under the guidance of local builders. Engaging with the local community and immersing myself in Tanzania’s vibrant culture. Witnessing firsthand the challenges of poverty and the power of sustainable, locally-led development. Every home we help build represents a brighter future for a family in need. I’m truly honoured to be part of this journey, and your support will help make it possible.

How I'm raising money

To raise money for the expedition, I’ll be running the Manchester Marathon in April 2026 as my main fundraiser, alongside organising workplace fundraising activities with colleagues who are also joining the trip.
