Our trip to Moshi, Tanzania, was an unforgettable experience that gave us the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of others. As part of our school trip, we worked together to build a home for a widow and her family, who had been living in poverty.
Throughout the project, everyone played an important role. We began by clearing the site of trees and plants before spending hours passing bricks and buckets of sand along long human chains across the building area. We then mixed cement and laid the bricks ourselves, watching the house slowly come together through teamwork, determination, and hard work.
Although the work was physically demanding, it was incredibly rewarding. Seeing what we could achieve together reminded us of the importance of helping others and working as a team. We are extremely grateful to our school for giving us this life-changing opportunity and for allowing us to experience a different way of life while making a positive impact.

Visiting the Changa Caves was an unforgettable adventure for our Scottish school group during our two-week expedition. The caves, nestled in a stunning natural setting, offered us a glimpse into the fascinating underground world with their intricate rock formations and cool, mysterious atmosphere. Exploring the winding tunnels and chambers, we learned about the geological history and the cultural significance of the caves to the local people. It was a perfect mix of education and excitement, making it a highlight of our trip.
Another amazing experience was discovering the art of coffee making. We had the chance to see firsthand how coffee beans are grown, harvested, and processed. Tasting freshly brewed coffee right at the source was incredible, and it gave us a new appreciation for the hard work behind every cup. Our visit to Marangu Waterfall added a refreshing touch to the expedition. Surrounded by lush greenery, the waterfall’s cool spray was a perfect way to relax after our hikes. The beauty of the cascading water and the peaceful environment made it a great spot to reflect on our journey and enjoy nature’s wonders.
