Who We Are
The Vine Trust is an international interdenominational charity with a vision to see communities transformed. We work to bring opportunity, health and hope to disadvantaged communities and marginalized people with a particular concern for vulnerable children. We share God's love in practical ways to make a better life a reality for all regardless of race, creed, gender, colour or orientation.
The Vine Trust started as a local community response to the famine in Ethiopia and Sudan in 1985. Churches in Bo'ness, Scotland felt compelled to do something. We established "Branches", a small gift shop, staffed by volunteers, whose profits continue to be distributed to local and international causes.
From these small beginnings has grown the realisation that ordinary people working together can effect significant change. We work in partnership with local people in other countries who have a vision to see their own communities transformed.
These are tremendous needs in the world. It is too easy to become paralysed by the size of the task. The issue is not can we do everything but can we do something.
The story of the Vine Trust is not only that something can be done, but that something must be done. We invite you to join us as we connect people to change lives.
Our Vision
The Vine Trust seeks to move beyond charity by building sustainable solutions. We work to develop collaborative strategies which will bring long term social change and greater global stability. We target our efforts around children, healthcare, enterprise and volunteering. We put people in situations where their gifts, vision and resources can literally change lives and transform communities.
